Career Summit at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

On April 3rd, 2024, the NYSERDA Capital Region Clean Energy Hub and its partners held a summit designed to help students of all ages and young professionals launch a career or start a new one in sustainability. Taking place at RPI’s Sage Labs, this powerful event was equal parts climate justice summit and sustainable career expo. There event included panel discussions on sustainability research, participatory workshops, career networking opportunities, a student club lunch, and an area for graduate and undergraduate students to display research posters and assets.

Greater Binghamton Clean Energy Careers Summit and Job Fair

The Greater Binghamton Clean Energy Careers Summit and Job Fair, held on September 27, 2023, at the DoubleTree Hotel in Binghamton, NY, was a resounding success! Over 189 participants checked in to the event, which united industry leaders, educators, government representatives, and job seekers. The event ignited discussions on the limitless potential of the clean energy sector in the Southern Tier, focusing on inclusivity and opportunity for all, from newcomers to seasoned professionals.

The 21st Annual New York State Green Building Conference

With the goal of promoting, educating, and supporting green building design, construction, and processes, the New York State Green Building Conference was held on March 2nd, 2023 in Syracuse, NY, with the option for virtual attendance. Conference participants represented many industries including architecture, engineering, construction, consulting, deconstruction, landscape architecture, government, higher education, K-12 education, state agencies, real estate, and management firms.

Brooklyn Clean Energy Careers Summit

The Brooklyn Clean Energy Careers was held on April 18th, 2023 as a means to help job and education/training seekers expand their skill sets and have the opportunity to explore the clean energy field. The job fair featured clean energy contractors and developers, representatives from educational and training institutions, labor leaders, renewable energy advocates, and more.

Sullivan County Green Job Fair

On April 28th, 2023, the Green Job Fair was held in conjunction with SUNY Sullivan’s annual Earth Day celebration as an opportunity for the local community to meet employers and training providers to join the green workforce and learn more about the fast-growing industries involving heat pumps, solar energy, weatherization, energy auditing, geothermal insulation, and more. The Green Job Fair was held conjointly with the Career Lunch and Stakeholder Summit where local contractors, career training providers, workforce development specialists, teachers, diversity and inclusion experts, municipal officials, and other collaborators discussed the needs and opportunities of the rapidly expanding clean energy industry.

Syracuse Clean Energy Career Fair

On February 29th, 2024, the Syracuse Clean Energy Career Fair was held at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown in conjunction with the 22nd Annual New York State Green Building Conference. This fair featured clean energy contractors and developers, representatives from educational and training institutions, labor leaders, renewable energy advocates, and more! The goal of the fair was to attract job seekers and individuals seeking education and training in clean energy from the region.

Clean Energy Career Exploration Day at SUNY Morrisville

On April 19th, 2024, as part of the college’s Earth Day celebration, SUNY Morrisville held its Clean Energy Career Exploration Day. This event aimed to provide an engaging and informative platform for students interested in exploring career opportunities in the expanding field of clean energy and sustainability. The event included keynote speaker who is a prominent figure in the clean energy industry to share insights and experiences with the attendees. There was also the opportunity for participants to attend various breakout sessions covering topics such as solar energy, wind power, and other renewable energy sources. Career Exploration Day participants also had the opportunity to tour SUNY Morrisville’s Agricultural and Clean Energy Technology Center (ACET Center) and explore the state-of-the-art facilities while learning about innovative technologies and projects underway in the field of clean energy.
