On April 3rd, 2024, the NYSERDA Capital Region Clean Energy Hub and its partners held a summit designed to help students of all ages and young professionals launch a career or start a new one in sustainability. Taking place at RPI’s Sage Labs, this powerful event was equal parts climate justice summit and sustainable career expo. There event included panel discussions on sustainability research, participatory workshops, career networking opportunities, a student club lunch, and an area for graduate and undergraduate students to display research posters and assets.
On April 28th, 2023, the Green Job Fair was held in conjunction with SUNY Sullivan’s annual Earth Day celebration as an opportunity for the local community to meet employers and training providers to join the green workforce and learn more about the fast-growing industries involving heat pumps, solar energy, weatherization, energy auditing, geothermal insulation, and more. The Green Job Fair was held conjointly with the Career Lunch and Stakeholder Summit where local contractors, career training providers, workforce development specialists, teachers, diversity and inclusion experts, municipal officials, and other collaborators discussed the needs and opportunities of the rapidly expanding clean energy industry.
